EA is slashing prices for Independence Day

EA’s been known to have huge sales on the 4th of July. And the reason for that is quite simple. They take all their games and slash their prices down to $0.99.

And this year is no different. Whether the game originally cost $9.99 (Monopoly HD) or $2.99 (Need for Speed Shift), they all get cut down to $0.99.

Although most other large developers are also cutting prices (such as Konami, Gameloft, etc.), few have as many successful titles as EA, and so it’s pretty clear that this move will bring in a HUGE amount of sales for EA.

Over 90 of EA’s games have had this amazing price drop, so be sure to check out your favorite titles on the App Store and take advantage of this huge occasion.

Here are some examples of the games that are profiting from this lowered price (these are just a few, definitely not all):

  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2
  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2 HD
  • Coconut Dodge HD
  • Command & Conquer: Red Alert HD
  • Dead Space
  • Madden NFL 11
  • Mirror’s Edge HD
  • Monopoly HD
  • Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
  • Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit HD
  • Need For Speed Shift
  • Need For Speed Shift HD
  • Need for Speed Undercover
  • Reckless Racing HD
  • Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Desert Zombie : Last Stand – new screenshots

The upcoming shooter Desert Zombie : Last Stand has been making waves through the iOS community. A very well made teaser trailer has raised eyebrows, and several screenshots from the actual game look absolutely gorgeous.

Created using the Unreal Engine, the zombies look absolutely amazing. From the few screenshots we’ve seen as well as the trailer, it seems like Desert Zombie : Last Stand isn’t your typical zombie shoot’em up game. The atmosphere seems very bright (duh, desert) as opposed to the gritty dark atmosphere we’re so used to from other zombie titles.

The zombies themselves look completely desiccated and rotted through, which makes sense given the fact that they’re in the desert.

From what we’ve seen, they seem to be of the “running zombie” variety, which coupled with the fact that we see them holding weapons in the screenshots (and trailer), makes us think that Desert

Zombie is going to have a refreshing new take on the zombie genre.

The game is scheduled for a July release, and we are definitely going to be keeping an eye on this title.
